Dallas, Texas: The General Membership of National Leather Association (NLA) – Dallas voted to renew the organization’s Coalition Partnership with National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) extending the relationship between the two organizations. Continuing partnership enables NLA-Dallas to continue its mission of building, strengthening and defending individuals, organizations, publications and businesses within our community, especially against threats to their freedom of expression, freedom of the press, rights to free association and right to equal protection under the law.
“We value the work done by NCSF and believe they provide important resources for the kink community,” said Neko, Male Co-Chair of NLA-Dallas. “NLA-Dallas is very proud to continue our support of the work they are doing on important issues related to consent and non-monogamy.” Each year NCSF fights for the sexual freedom and privacy rights for adults who engage in safe, sane and consensual behavior and depends on partnerships, memberships and general donations to continue their work. “Everyone benefits from the activities of NCSF, and we are glad to be a part of their network of partners,” said Miss Debi, Female Co-Chair of NLA-Dallas.
NCSF provides resources for locating kink aware professionals, consent counts program, incident reporting and response, and was heavily involved in depathologizing kinky sex – including cross-dressing, fetishes, and BDSM – in the The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). They rely solely on donations to continue their work towards advocacy for the rights of consenting adults. “The work NCSF has done with psychiatry professionals is crucial to allowing consenting adults to freely engage in their kink,” said Master Patrice, NLA-Dallas representative to NCSF.
